El Salvador Passes Law Requring Employmnet of Disabled Persons

El Salvador has passed a law that will require businesses by May to employ one disabled person for every 25 workers.

El Salvador marked the International Day of Disabled Persons by noting that 1.8 million people in the country are disabled while less than 50,000 receive assistance from government programs.

Labor Minister Jorge Nieto announced that college students will conduct a census this week among businesses in the country to identify available positions for those with disabilities.
