European Congress on Cued Speech Held in Brussels

The Third European Congress of Le Langage Parlé Complété (LPC - the French version of Cued Speech) was held in Brussels, Belgium, February 2 -3, 2002. Attending were professionals, parents, and deaf individuals from Belgium, France, Spain, Switzerland, Great Britain, and the United States.

Cued Speech is a sound-based visual communication system which, in English, uses eight handsahpes in four different locations ("cues") in combination with the natural mouth movements of speech, to make all the sounds of spoken language look different. It has been adapted to 57 languages and dialects and is in use in countries around the world.
