Online discussion with Autism Expert, Dr. William Shaw
On January 22nd, Dr. William Shaw, a researcher on the role of intestinal microorganisms in autism, participated in an online discussion in English. The Great Britain Association of Autism Connect coordinated this event. A summary of that chat can be accessed at www.autismconnect.org (News section) or in Spanish. Some of the major themes discussed included: dietary therapy, anti-bacterial therapy, vitamin therapy, heavy metals and their role in autism, immunization, immunodeficiency, and other bio-medical therapies.
A new book resource by Dr. William Shaw on Autism has been translated into Spanish called Biological Treatments of Autism and PDD. This is a guide on practical ways in which those who deal with this condition can better their quality of life; it avoids complex medical jargon and provides a clear statement of biological treatments for this disorder. Those who are interested in this book may use the e-mail and telephone contacts below for more information on how to access it.
