Revamped DisabilityTimes.com Returns as News.DisabilityWebGuide
After a brief hiatus, the daily and weekly news service, DisabilityTimes.com has become News.DisabilityWebGuide. News.DisabilityWebGuide covers news from around the world and has expanded its international coverage. The daily and weekly newsletters are available by subscription and no longer free. Included in the subscription are daily updates for specific conditions and disability related-topics and access to an archive of links to news stories sorted by topic and date. New RADAR Tracks Disability News
The American Association on Mental Retardation in Washington, DC has created a new Internet-based news tracking service called RADAR that monitors more than 150 major newspapers and trade publications for news coverage of national and international disability issues. RADAR reports are open to everyone on the Internet and will track issues including housing, transportation, employment, aging, and abuse. Reports will be available bi-weekly and will be stored in an online searchable database. For more information: http://www.aamr.org/Radar/index.html.


The Family Village: On-line Information for Persons with Cognitive Disabilities
The Family Village at the University of Wisconsin at Madison offers information, resources, and communication opportunities on the Internet for persons with cognitive and other disabilities, their families and communities. The website includes extensive informational resources on education, health issues, disability-related media and literature, specific diagnoses, communication connections, adaptive products and technology, adaptive recreational activities. The site contains primarily US resources, but it does have a small but growing number of international resources as well. Visit The Family Village at http://www.familyvillage.wisc.edu/.
