Disability film festival, Melbourne 3-5 December 2004

The Other Film Festival: Melbourne's International Disability Film Festival
Arts Access takes pleasure in announcing that the inaugural The Other Film Festival will take place from Friday 3 until Sunday 5 December 2004. The festival will coincide with International Day of People with a Disability on 3 December and take place at Federation Hall cinema, Victorian College of the Arts.

The Other Film Festival is particularly proud to announce 2004 Academy Award winner, Adam Elliot, as the Patron of Australia's first disability film festival.

Adam Elliot says, "I am honoured to be involved in The Other Film Festival. My films have appeared in other disability film festivals around the world, so it's a great time to introduce an Australian equivalent that will allow audiences the chance to experience films and filmmakers with a focus on difference."

The Other Film Festival will present curated sessions of the best national and international work, gritty and raw new work by emerging filmmakers, and vigorously debated forums. The festival seeks to engage, enthuse, and entertain a diverse audience.

How to enter films: Deadline for entries is 31 July 2004. Entry forms are available from the festival website, phone 03 9699 8299 or TTY 03 9699 7636. Films should be finished on film or high quality video.

General enquiries: Please email Nerida Weller on nweller@artsaccess.com.au

The Other Film Festival is supported by The City of Melbourne and the Ian Potter Foundation.

We hope to see you all there!
