Call for Papers on Intersection between Disability & Education

The Review of Disability Studies is soliciting articles for a forum that will focus on the intersection between disability and education. The forum will be published in the Fall Issue of RDS, and articles are due directly to me, in electronic format, no later than August 1, 2004.  The forum aims to explore some of the following issues:
  • Has the concept of "special" education helped or hindered people with disabilities in the quest for equal opportunity?
  • How can the educational field better integrate the disability experience and disability culture into its curriculum?
  • How have different countries around the world approached the education of individuals with disabilities?
  • What is the history of educational opportunities for individuals with disabilities?

Other similar topics are welcome. Contributions can be research articles, essays, creative works (such as poetry or photographs), literature reviews, book reviews, or lists of resources. All submissions should follow our publication guidelines which can be found at www.rds.hawaii.edu

Please contact me with any questions.
