Spain: Providing Electronic Assistance for People with Disabilities

Seville, Spain: The President of the Andalusian Conference on People with Physical Disabilities (CAMF), María Angeles Cózar and Asisttel's CEO, Shay Rosenstein have signed a cooperation agreement to facilitate people with disabilities receiving electronic assistance at their homes by just pushing a button.

The Andalusian collective of people with disabilities reaches in excess of 700,000 people and is the largest autonomous community of people with mobility impairments. Through this agreement, people with disabilities will be able to use this electronic assistance system that will open on-going communication with a center staffed by qualified professionals that will try to solve a variety of problems by allocating human resources or materials, either of their own or communal.

The user will be able to access the main office 24 hours a day, everyday by pushing a button in a bracelet or pendant without dialing a phone number.

The National Institutes of Statistics asserts that more than one half of Spaniards with disabilities between the ages of 6 and 64 years old have trouble in performing daily tasks. In 61% of them, problems are serious. Hence, home services offer customers the serenity, security and warrantee that they will always receive services.

Through this cooperation agreement with Assistel, and as representative for Andalusians with disabilities, CAMF is working to connect people with disabilities to an advantageous and reasonably priced electronic assistance program.

Mobility impairments impose daily problems to people with disabilities, mainly because physical barriers often prevent them from leaving their homes.
