Koch's Spa
"Our House"
This is a tropical, Pacific coast hideaway designed for relaxed family style vacations, catering particularly to the physical disabled and challenged, located in beautiful south-western Mexico near Ixtapa-Zihuatane
This accessible bed & breakfast located in Barra de Potosí, Mexico, is the retirement dream of Cecil and Karen Koch, from Washington State.
Cecil, who recently retired from his job as building inspector in Snohomish Country, WA., has been visiting Zihuatanejo since the mid-80's. He met Karen, a beautician originally from England, in Granite Falls and in the mid 90's, when they decided to marry, they came to the ideal beach resort of Zihuatanejo to do it in tropical style.
They purchased and renovated their beachside home. They now have the foundation on which to cultivate their dream: a bed and breakfast that caters to persons with disabilities allowing them to enjoy and participate in the beauty and nature of the tropical Pacific Coast that the Kochs so love.
"Our House" is a beautiful, comfortable home built on the shores of the Pacific ocean, with miles of beach and sea extending on either side and to the horizon. The house and grounds have been adapted for wheelchair and special needs access, with wide doorways and ramps to the verandah as well as to the beach.
They have three bedrooms for guest accommodations, two with private bathrooms and the third with a bath conveniently located in the hallway right outside the bedroom door. The spacious living/dining area is cozy and warm, decorated with floor tiles, hardwood accents and potted palms. A wide, shaded verandah overlooks the beach and ocean for the enjoyment of the spectacular sunsets and onshore breezes.
"Our House" is equipped with air-conditioning and television in all the bedrooms. They have a washer & drier and can either provide breakfast, a light lunch and dinner (either Mexican or American style food) or give kitchen access to those guests who may want to prepare their own meals.
They also have a 12 passenger accessible bus that they use for guest transfers to and from the airport as well as for sightseeing excursions in the area.
For more information and reservations contact Cecil & Karen Koch at Our House - Koch's Spa, Barra de Potosí, Mexico. Phone: 011-52-755-556-7310 - evenings after 9 p.m. or early mornings. Cell Phone: 011-52-755-556-3552 - any time (cell phone calls are more expensive).
