From August 9th - August 18th Theatre Workshop Edinburgh will be staging its own Festival within a Festival at this year's Fringe, celebrating its own work by hosting Scotland's first International Festival of Disability Art.

Degenerate wants to promote "the best of Disability Arts to a whole new audience in the world's biggest market place for the Arts and at the same time encourage a new audience of disabled people to attend the Edinburgh Festival."

Artists appearing so far are:

Common Ground Sign Dance Theatre with well known film and stage actor David Bower and Spanish American dancer and choreographer Isolde Avila will perform "Caliban and Miranda" a multimedia sign dance theatre prequel to "The Tempest" featuring giant puppets and text by Shakespeare.

Nabil Shaban is developing a new play based on the life of David Rappaporte which will premier at the festival. Theatre Workshop's own resident company will be developing and performing a new work.

BCN Doble a Spanish integrated visual arts and performance company, incorporating bodies and structures in hugely physical performance work with antecedents in Catalan puppetry will present their work.
