ILO Requests Examples of Best Practices in Job Creation and Work Place Adaptation
The ILO is currently preparing an update of the two booklets:
-
"Job creation for disabled people - A Guide for Workers' Organisations" and
-
"Job creation for disabled people - A Guide for Employers' Organisations".
These booklets were first published in 1992. Since then, important changes have taken place in disability policy and practice.
The purpose of both guides will be to promote a positive image of people with disabilities among the social partners and to help them to better understand their role and their potential in integrating people with disabilities into the labour market.
Existing "best practices" will play an important part in these publications as these may convey concrete ideas of what the social partners actually can do to provide decent work to people with disabilities.
The GLADNET-community is encouraged to provide examples of existing policies and programmes on training, upgrading and/or workplace-integration of disabled people initiated and/or implemented by one of the social partners. Brief descriptions of such policies or programmes and a respective reference address for possible follow-up should be mailed to Andreas Koenig who is undertaking the update of these publications on behalf of the ILO. Please mail him at dr_andreas_koenig@freesurf.ch
Thanks for your collaboration.
