U.S. Department of Justice Launches Disability Rights Online News

The U.S. Department of Justice recently launched an online monthly newsletter on disability rights. Issue #1 June 2004 includes information on a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling on an individuals' right to challenge inaccessible courts, ADA mediation, a checklist for polling place accessibility and much more. Canada elects first quadriplegic MP

Newly elected to the House of Commons, Conservative MP Steven Fletcher hopes to break new ground for Canadians with disabilities as Canada's first quadriplegic MP. The 32-year-old, who was the youngest president of the Manitoba Progressive Conservative Party, is ready to tackle his campaign priorities that include health care and education and hopes to raise awareness among politicians and the news media about issues facing disabled people.
