Invitation to Attend
You are invited to attend the first International Forum on Disability Management in Vancouver, Canada May 27 - 29, 2002. The theme of this inaugural biennial global conference is Work Retention Strategies in a Global Society.
As the title of this conference indicates, there is a growing need for global leadership and a global perspective on Disability Management. The exploding global information exchange, research and capabilities, coupled with the growing harmonization of international economic, fiscal and social activities, has dramatically improved the ability of successful labour market initiatives to cross borders from country to country and to be adopted from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. It is the convergence of various Disability Management initiatives spread across a number of countries (with a focus on the economic and social impact of disability on employers and disabled workers) that has made the idea of an International Forum in Disability Management a reality.
The goal of this biennial forum is to bring together key leaders and practitioners from business, labour, government, academia and providers those focused on the innovative and cutting-edge Disability Management research, design and practice that furthers the development of consensus-based Disability Management programs and policies around the world.
Disability Management/Work Retention is a rapidly emerging field; the leadership, innovation and best practices offered through this forum will be of interest to and benefit representatives of business, labour, government, the rehabilitation sector, as well as public and private sector insurance organizations and individuals from the disability community. Confirmed keynote presenters from around the globe will set the stage throughout the plenary sessions.
