Recommended Resource: Inclusion Daily Express
By Barbara Duncan
As many of the news-oriented disability dot.coms have either ceased operations or greatly reduced their scope and frequency, one that consistently pumps out a wealth of information is the Inclusion Daily Express (www.InclusionDaily.com) edited by Dave Reynolds.
Although the coverage is primarily disability-related developments in U.S. and Canada, Reynolds makes yeoman efforts to find and report on events elsewhere. An October 2001 issue featured reports from: Morocco & Senegal announcing joint plans to increase inclusion activities; Pakistan stating that Islamabad was becoming a "disability-friendly" city; and New Zealand, where the Prime Minister apologized to 95 people who had been subjected to electric shock "aversion therapy."
The website has several resources posted. Some are available only on subscription, while others are free. My only real criticism is that while the "Quotes of the Day," are often intriguing, they sometimes make little sense out of context. Overall, the site provides an array of up-to-date reports and resources.
