Accessibility Report on Theatres in Peru Now Available

The Vice-Ministry of Living and Construction, the National Council on the Integration of People with Disabilities in Peru (CONADIS) and the Commission for the Promotion of Peru (PromPeru) have collaborated to write up a report entitled, "Accessibility in Cinemas and Theatres in Lima". It is meant to assess the level of accessibility and social integration in this city using both quantitative and qualitative analysis. It includes the criteria of what is to be deemed accessible in addition to recommendations for getting rid of cited barriers. Each theatre and cinema's level of accessibility is assessed in terms of the location and characteristics of its entrance and the interior architectural design. Any particular accessibility features are also mentioned.

An electronic copy of the report can be obtained from the Inter-American Institute on Disability at iidisab@aol.com.
