By Luis Fernando Astorga Gatjens, IID (lferag@racsa.co.cr), based on information from Dr. Pablo Larrea

An Argentinean ophthalmologist and father of two premature babies, promotes via Internet the use of a computer program to prevent and control diseases of the retina.

Rhetinosis in the premature child is the first cause of infantile blindness in Latin America, says Dr. Pablo Larrea, promoter of this initiative: "Visit our Web Site. It has been designed to promote a way to prevent and control Retinosis in the premature child. We use e-mail to share information and to deliver instructions for therapies in these children. Using the Internet, we are able to provide follow-up in a convenient manner."

The information is available for parents and professionals. We welcome participants form Argentina and the rest of Latin America: www.rop21.com.ar
