Disabled Youth in Romania seek contact

The EuroEd Foundation is looking for organisations who would like to link with physically disabled young people between 12 and 26 years of age in Romania. They are interested in getting in touch with similar organizations which work with these teenagers and which are interested in sharing their experiences.

Between March - December 2002, the EuroEd Foundation, Iasi, Romania runs the Program "The Social and Professional Integration of Youth with Physical Disabilities", financed by EU, through PHARE ACCESS.

We've set up a Club for physically disabled young people, aged between 12 and 26. Through the club program we are trying to answer to a part of their needs. So, we have our own website: http://ilc.iasi.osf.ro/~coechipier and a monthly on-line publication. During our meetings we organize workshops on different topics and our specialists provide psychological and professional counseling.

We are trying to be a "big" family, to get to know each other the best and to solve together different problems.

We are interested in getting in touch with similar organizations which work with these teenagers and which are interested in sharing their experiences. We would also like to develop projects in partnership: literary contests, photos exhibitions, etc. to facilitate intercultural exchange.

We are proposing the collaboration in publishing three workbooks, each aiming at one of the following target groups:
  • physically disabled young people,
  • parents,
  • teachers or volunteers working with these.
All those who already have experience in this field are kindly requested to share their interests with our project coordinator, Ticu Constantin, at his email address: tconst@uaic.ro.

We are waiting for your comments, suggestions or anything else related to this subject at: ioanag77@hotmail.com, tconst@uaic.ro.

Thank you,
Ticu Constantin
Project Coordinator
