Request from Swedish Institute Concerning Diversified Labour Force

GLADNET has received the following request for information. Colleagues wishing to respond are kindly asked to cc GLADNET, in order that their replies may be shared with others. This will also be the first message placed on a new topic forum of the Learning Network, "Best Practices."

"Recently a committee has been set up in Sweden to find proposals for a more diversified labour force in respect of gender, disability, sexual orientation, age and class. The committee has been set up by the Swedish government and is supposed to present its findings in November 2000. We would be very grateful if the participants of Gladnet could furnish us with information about federal, state and company policies (and also trade union work) or other initiatives for a more diversified labour force in respect of disability. Policies and initiatives which could be of interest for the work carried out in Sweden to promote participation, but also equality, of people with disabilities in work life."
