AbleTV.net Town Meeting for Disabled Community

AbleTV.net, the first web-based global TV network for the disabled, featured Federal Communications Commission's new role in disability rights as it pertains to telecommunications and the Internet on its April 26 Town Meeting Webcast. The event, broadcast live from the Internet TV studios of TVWorldwide.com, is sponsored by Microsoft Corp., and is another in a monthly series of interactive AbleTV.net webcasts that attract extensive participation from the disabled community worldwide.

The main guest was Pam Gregory, FCC Chief for Disability Rights. The show also featured Tom Wiggin of TVEyes.com, discussing the firm's innovative plans for tracking closed-captioning with video streaming, something pioneered by AbleTV.net in cooperation with TVWorldwide.com. Jeff Pledger, co-host of the show, who is blind, is also President of AbleTVnet.

The webcast is accessible at http://www.abletv.net, and interactive through chat, e-mail and phone direct to the studio. Programs are archived and closed-captioned for later viewing after the webcast at the same event site link.
