Swedish Ministry of Health and Social Affairs Budgets for Information Technology

The Swedish Government previously declared that it will grant MSEK 60 during a period of three years from the State Inheritance Fund for contributions that will develop the use of Information Technology (IT) for disabled people.

The Government has now decided to give MSEK 20 to provide a budget for actions for disabled people after a proposal from Margot Wallström, the Minister of Health and Social Affairs. The amount will be divided into three areas:

1- The Institute for disabled people will receive a total of SEK 4 .4million to a project which aims at increasing the consciousness of ITs importance för disabled people.

2- The Institute for disabled people will also receive SEK 11.6 million in order to develop a trial enterprise within the area IT and disabled people.

3-Another SEK 4 million will be available to projects that aims at learning disabled people to use information technology. Means to such projects will be submitted by sending an application to the State Inheritance Fund.
