Access & Technology:

South Africa Project Requests Researchers in Technology

Forge Ahead BMI-TechKnowledge is doing a study into the use of technology to assist the disabled population. The study has been commissioned by the Department of Communications of the South Africa Government, and the results will lead to policy information in the telecom, broadcasting and postal services arenas in South Africa.

We are very keen to involve DisabilityWorld readers in the research project. Your assistance in any of the following ways would be welcomed:

* direct involvement in the research itself by virtue of the interviews that we will be conducting with individuals stakeholders
* providing documentary input to the study, including other studies that have bee conducted, either locally or internationally, examples of policy formulation process, technology solutions/services, or other (e.g. a "bill of rights" drawn up by a particular community.
* assisting us in identifying other stakeholders, or influential persons in the disabled community themselves, who could provide useful input to the study.
* Participating I discussion groups or workshops with other interested parties.

Please indicate in which of these areas you may be able to assist. Contact:
