International Symposium
on New Information & Communication Technologies
Quebec,
2-3 October 2000
An international symposium on the thëme, "Towards Technology connected to Diversity," will take place in Laval, Quebec, October 2-3. The meeting is inquiring into whether some of the new information and communication technologies are acting as tools for inclusion or integration. Sponsoring organizations include the Quebec-based Committee on Employment Adaptation for Disabled Persons (CAMO), Partners of the Quebec Government in Information Technology, the Information Technology Association of Canada, Employ-Quebec and Human Resources Development Canada.
The organizers are expecting about 200 participants to attend the meeting which will be addressed by 40 speakers from Canada, the US and Europe. One presentation will be the results of a study on the accessibility of Quebec and Canadian websites.
