Superfest 2001 Festival Invites Film/Video Entries

The International Media Festival on Disabilities, known as Superfest 2001, has announced its Call for Entries. This 21st annual film & video festival judges entrees through a series of committees and the winners are then assembled for a two or three day festival in Berkeley, California in early summer. An Awards Ceremony caps the festival.

For this festival, works completed since December 1, 1996 are eligible.

A deadline of January 31 has been announced and there are modest entry fees according to a sliding scale. Each entry on ½" VHS-NTSC format must be accompanied with a completed entry form. KickstART, British Columbia, Looking for Artists

The Society for Disability, Arts and Culture (S4DAC) will present KickstART, August 16-20, 2001 in Vancouver to highlight the distinct perspectives and creativity of artists and performers with disabilities.

Morning symposium sessions and participatory workshops are designed to enable Canadian and international artists and performers to learn from each other. A day-long seminar on art and employment, called stART WORK, will conclude the week.

In association with an international conference on war-affected children, a small international Film Festival was organized September 9-13 in Canada. The following entries were screened:
