More Information about Prader-Willi Syndrome Needed in South America

IPWSO (International Prader-Willi Syndrome Organization) is looking for contacts all over Latino America. PWS is a rare genetic disease, almost unknown and affected people may easily die if they do not have an early diagnosis. So information and dissemination on the region is extremely important. At the moment IPWSO has only two member national associations in Argentina and Paraguay, with Chile and Uruguay on the way to establishing their own. To increase our outreach we are organizing the First Latino American Conference about PWS in Asuncion (Paraguay) on 28 and 29 October 2000. More information can be found in our website: www.ipwso.org

Support is being requested from the whole disability sector in South America in informing doctors, geneticists, pediatricians of the region about this coming event and IPWSO's existence.
