Conference Announcement and Invitation from Singapore

The Movement of the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS), a prominent local NGO, is organising the Millennium Symposium round the theme, "Science and Policy: Towards an Inclusive Society for People With Intellectual Disability" from 28 November to 2 December 2000.

The purpose of the conference is to provide an international platform for the sharing of exemplary policy initiatives, latest scientific knowledge and professional know how, as well as best practices in the widest range of programmes and services including developmental, preventive and rehabilitative measures for people with intellectual disability. It is an important meeting for policy makers, human service professionals, scientists, educationalists, researchers, disability advocates, donor agency representatives, media and employer representatives, parents and people with intellectual disability to exchange ideas. The objective is to energise those working with and on behalf of persons with intellectual disability.

This is an invitation to you to come to the Millennium Symposium. We are currently in the process of looking for plenary, paper or clinical workshop presenters. Please visit our website http://www.minds.org.sg for more information.

Come and join us to create a society in the new millennium in which people with intellectual disability live rich, productive and fulfilled lives in an enabling physical and social environment.
