I know from personal experience that living with a disability requires support, resources and tapping some inner strength. For 16 years I have lived as a quadriplegic. I have learned the rewards of supportive, friends, caregivers and family; that knowledge and tapping resources is essential; and that connecting with others is therapy for the mind as well as the spirit. Computers and the Internet have become invaluable tools to me. I want to be a part of the next generation of solutions. I believe in helping others find strength and independence without getting lost wading through the overwhelming and confusing array of websites and resources currently on the Internet. There are so many terrific services out there, information to use, and sites that target specific disability issues. Unfortunately, in the quest to access disability resources it is easy to get lost and discouraged in the search.

I-Can brings together resources, products, services, and information in a supportive "can-do" community for us to interact and share our knowledge.

I-Can serves people with disabilities; their families and friends; and the health care community. We want you to be able to find what you need in the simplest way possible, whether it's information on accessible travel or on the latest lift devices. We strive to be accessible and easy to use, and to deliver comprehensive content and services tailored to the interests and needs of the 550 million people worldwide who have disabilities, along with those that love and care for them. Through our 15 channels, we bring you information on travel, employment, adjusting to life with a disability, rehabilitation, benefits, adaptive sports, health and fitness and relationships. We provide tools for you to voice your rights and enlighten our legislators on your needs, and a shopping area that we hope will meet every need of the disability community. Above all, our community is about you and me. I want you to tell me what you think of the products we feature. We would love your feedback in surveys, which will allow us to have distinct voice regarding current issues affecting people with disabilities. Send your stories, your experiences, your suggestions. Together, we will deliver a community that will employ, enable and empower people with all abilities. Our ultimate goal is to create a cooler life for us all. The message isn't about limitations, it's all about opportunity.
